about KOENJI-AWAODORI
YUKATA is the most popular Japanese KIMONO style worn in summer. I am going to tell you what you should pay attention to when you buy a YUKATA.
for Ladies

When you buy a YUKATA, you have to know your height. You have to choose one which is the same length with your height. If you are 160 cm, your YUKATA needs 158〜163 cm. This size is referred to as MITAKE in Japanese.

DATEJIME \1029
KOSHIHIMO ×2 \399×2=\798
YUKATA-SHITA
M \2415 L \2520
When you wear YUKATA, you need one DATEJIME, two KOSHIHIMO and YUKATA-SHITA. You have to use 2 KOSHIHIMO. If you want to wear YUKATA more nicely, you need DATEJIME before putting your OBI..
You will be more comfortable when using YUKATA-SHITA. It is an undergarment. If you use it, you will be able to walk more easily and feel cooler. Because it can absorb prespiration.
And you need OBI and GETA.

We will alter YUKATA to fit you, if it is too long for you. This alteration is free.
We have prepared a spacial sale of YUKATA for ladies with OBI and GETA. These pictures are examples.
Sold out
Each one is on sale for just \9,800 (\10,290 with tax).
You can choose your favorite combination.
You can choose OBI and GETA from many colors.
We have more than 50 YUKATAs, more than 20 colors of OBI and more than 50 pairs of GETA.
How to tie an OBI in a BUNKO style or a Butterfly (CHOU) style
1 It’s easiest if you think of one end of the obi as A and the other end as B.
2 A is halved gradually and the length of the folded part is approx. 60-70cm (double the width from the front left seam to the front right seam of your kimono).
3 Hold point C under your left arm and bring point A in front then wind B round your body, bringing it to the right then to the left, at this time A is pulled up.
4 Tie A and B in front of you.
5 After doing so twist A and B as the arrow
6 With your left elbow secure A at your left side to move your right hand over the left hand in order to keep the obi from loosening.
7 With the remaining B piece fold it in sections equal to the width of your shoulders and place it in front of you.

6 Gather the center like a ribbon

and with A wrap it around the front, go under

& bring it behind the twist and over again, then tuck it down behind the obi (or part D).

If A is too long, hide A into the back of D.

Turn the ribbon from your right to your back.

7 This style of tied-obi is called Bunko which originally meant a swell but now refers to books and has an image of a book binding.

Pull out a incide part of OBI
8 This is called CHOU (Butterfly).

for Men
You have to know your MITAKE. MITAKE is the length of YUKATA.
You can calculate your MITAKE.
Your height − 27〜30cm = your MITAKE.
If your height is 180cm, you should buy a YUKATA with a length of 150〜153cm.

We will alter YUKATA to fit you, if it is too long for you. This alteration is free.

When you wear YUKATA, you need a KOSHIHIMO.
You can use your underpants and undershirt under your YUKATA.
And you need OBI and GETA.
