Aleksandr had teamed up with Maya Usova for 17 years and split up in 1998 after the COI summer tour. After that, he started to skate with Pasha(Oksana) Grishuk, but he had some problems on his back and legs, then stopped skating in 1999. Now, he works as a choreographer and a coach in the United States(he has already started these works a few years ago).

I'm not sure when Maya and Sasha lost their eligble status. According to the "A Year of Figure Skating"(published by McClelland & Stewart Inc.), "Maia Usova and Aleksandr Zhulin were supposed to reinstate as amateurs for the 1995-96 season.However,a groin injury that Zhulin suffered during the Tour of World Champions in 1995 scuttled that idea.As soon as they participated in the Northwestern Mutural Life Team Championship in Milwaukee,they lost their eligble status for the last time."
